Location:    Long Beach

We started with an unfinished basement.  We framed out the foundation walls and subdivided the basement into rooms according to the blueprints.  We created a laundry room, a bathroom, an office, a boiler room, a large storage closet and a storage closet under the staircase for the children's toys.  We also dug a well outside to create a secondary escape route required by building code.  Using a ScapeWell unit it makes the well appear more pleasant than the standard cement walls.  This unit provides places on the steps up to allow for flowers to be planted to create a more pleasant view.  This unit also has optional tops, a grate top (as shown in pictures) to allow for air flow, and a plastic bubble top to keep water and snow, etc. out of the unit.  We changed two windows and created the third escape window.  We are also replacing the staircase.  Our plumber fixed and moved several sets of pipes to conceal them in the ceiling.  Inside the office we created a sliding door cabinet to conceal the exposed gas meter, but still allow for the  detection of gas both by smell and by a sensor.
